The Metaverse needs 3D Fashion Designers

The retail market is living a revolution. New immersive technologies are making retail companies adapt and jump into the metaverse. 2021 meant a take-off in the sector, with companies such as Nike, Adidas, Balenciaga and many more launching digital asset collections.

However, as for now, the metaverse has a lot of designers and developers, but not enough artists. Artists have expertise in colour theory, line quality, and aesthetics that can elevate an avatar’s visual appeal.

It takes time to learn 3D modelling software, but an artist can create beautiful assets using simpler tools like Photoshop or Procreate. It can take months or years to master 3D modelling techniques, which is why it’s important to get started now.

Why are digital clothes revolutionising the fashion industry?

Digital garments provide infinite freedom for self-expression and creation.

What happens when you design clothes for the metaverse? Digital garments are constructed based on real templates and using professional 3D applications for tailors. They provide infinite freedom for self-expression and creation. Dress up, flash styles with different combinations that make you feel good about yourself and make others positively notice you. Digital fashion designers can make anything they want, as long as it’s digital.

Digital fashion collections for the metaverse are inspired by the creation process of real garments, combined with a limitless design aesthetic. The designs capture the infinite freedom of expression in digital worlds.

Digital fashion for the metaverse can be anything you want it to be. Choose from a wide array of styles, then tailor them to fit your style.

Creating your digital identity

People should be able to choose how they want to express themselves in virtual spaces.

Looking to express yourself but don’t know where to start? Union’s avatar maker allows you to create a realistic avatar using only a selfie. The whole process takes less than a minute and you can choose from over a hundred outfits.

With our realistic avatar, you can also design your apparel without limits. Instead of working with real fabrics, you have infinite options to change the texture and pattern of your clothes based on a real garment template.

Digital fashion is a new reality. With digital garments, you can play, create and self-express in a way that has never been possible before. You can mix and match styles and fabrics, instantly change the colour of your t-shirt to match your mood, or even have it look like you’re wearing a 3 piece suit when you’re wearing gym clothes. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your imagination.

Imagine wearing a different outfit every day. Imagine playing dress-up with clothes that don’t even exist yet.

3D fashion designers. What are they and how do they work in the metaverse?

Fashion designers are becoming increasingly important in the metaverse. As we move toward a time when people can design their own clothes, and even print them out at home, fashion will become an even more significant industry.

The first thing to understand is that there are two types of fashion designers: traditional and virtual.

Traditional designers use physical materials to create their designs and sell them in stores. They have been around for hundreds of years and have always been a very lucrative career choice for those with talent, imagination, and an eye for style.

Virtual designers get their inspiration from the same places as everyone else: magazines, movies, and TV shows… but then take those ideas and create 3D models using software such as Maya or Blender. These models can then be printed out via 3D printers or exported into other programs which will allow them to be worn by avatars inside virtual worlds like Second Life.

3D Fashion Designers are garment makers that use the Metaverse to design, create and sell clothing. It’s an emerging profession in the metaverse, one that is still finding its way.

In the Metaverse, 3D Fashion Designers do much of the same work as their real-world counterparts, but with a few differences:

  • They have a wider range of products to choose from than typical clothing stores do because they can choose from thousands upon thousands of designs instead of just a few dozen in each size category like real-world stores do;
  • They don’t have to worry about stock limits or carrying too much inventory because virtual inventory management eliminates these concerns;
  • Virtual reality is all about the experience, and that extends to fashion.

The fashion industry is one of the most exciting areas of VR development right now, with major brands like Levi’s and Nike working on creating products for consumers. At the same time, smaller companies are also exploring new ways to sell their clothing in virtual spaces.
